In Our Classroom
Mr. Schaben and Mr. Strand's Student Teacher
My name is Kelsie Eman, I am a senior at UNK and I will be graduating in December. I am very excited to be at Arapahoe working with these great students. Throughout the day, I will be back and forth between Mr. Schaben and Mr. Strand's rooms.
In Mr. Schaben's room, I will be teaching: Pre-Calculus, Geometry, Algebra II, and College Statistics.
In Mr. Strand's room, I will be teaching: Applied Algebra, Math 7, and Applied Geometry.
I will also be helping out with Math Club and attending UNL Math Day.
I grew up in Oxford and graduated from Southern Valley with the class of 2010. After high school, I attended Central Community College and received an Associate's Degree in Photography. I worked in a daycare in Hastings for about two years, that's where I discovered that I wanted to be a teacher. I chose math because I have always had a passion for math, and I feel it is something I can communicate a teach to other people. I finished up my gen. ed. classes at CCC and the transferred to UNK to complete my Bachelor's Degree. I currently live in Beaver City with my boyfriend Jordon ,and our energetic heeler Kate. I plan to stay in this same area when I apply for jobs, but you never know where the road will take you.
"Mathematics has beauty and romance. It's not a boring place to be, the mathematical world. It's an extraordinary place; it's worth spending time there." - Marcus du Sautoy
