Mrs. Amy Huxoll

High School Resource Special Education Teacher

Health Teacher

Jr. High Track Coach

Welcome to Mrs. Huxoll's class.  I am excited for a new school year with a brand new school!  This is such a fun time to be a part of the Arapahoe School District and I am proud to be a part of it.  I became a teacher because I love working with kids.  I found my way into special education because I enjoy finding different ways to think outside of the box when it comes to academics.  I have taught 6-12th graders and was the Math Methods Teacher for Southwest Kansas.  This is my 20th year of teaching and coaching.

In my spare time I enjoy watching KSU athletics.  I attended Kansas State University and received my degree as a K-8 Elementary Education Teacher with a minor in Speech Language Pathology.  My mom and dad attended KSU as well so it is something I grew up loving.  I  attended Emporia State University after my third year of teaching and received my Master's of Science Degree in Special Education in LD and BD K-12.

A little bit of info. about me............

I got married to Darren Huxoll a year and a half ago.  He is a crop adjuster and we have cattle.  We have 5 children between the two of us so our household is pretty busy and entertaining.  I have three boys that attend here in Arapahoe.  Alex is a senior this year.  He is involved in the music department in the choirs and the musical.  He spends the majority of his extra time as a CNA at the nursing home.   Austin Roush is a sophomore.  He is busy with football at the moment and helps us with cattle on the farm.  AJ is in 4th grade.  He is playing football as well, but he spends most of his time shooting hoops.  Deryk Huxoll attends Cambridge High School.  He is busy with football and enjoys helping his Grandpa on the farm.  Taryn attends the University of Kearney.  She is finishing up her undergraduate classes so she can apply to nursing school.  She works as a CNA as well.  Our family spends a lot of time running around to school events.  I wouldn't trade it for the world.
