Warriors Compete at District Wrestling
Tristan White was able to stretch the length of his season by placing 3rd, making it to state. He scored 16.0 points for the team. Tristan wrestled teammate Bryan Conn and won the match. He then received a loss to Eli Lanham due to medical forfeit. Tristan defeated Ben Klemesrud by decision (8-2). With that match won Tristan had clenched the opportunity to go to state, but still defeated Jacoby Mann by fall (3:34) to take 3rd.
Bryan Conn did not have the results as Tristan, but still had a good season ending with a winning record. He won by fall over Manny Consbruck (4:34), but then had to wrestle fellow team member Tristan White. Bryan Conn was then able to defeat Matteo Canals by decision (9-2). Bryan season came to an end though when Aiden Piel defeated Bryan in the 3rd consolation round.
Ashton Vargas also did not have the season closer that most wrestlers want, but still had a winning record. Ashton defeated Payton Ebert by fall (2:32), but then was eliminated from the bracket when he lost to Cyrus Wells and Zach Halbert.
Jackson Koller had a rough end to his senior wrestling season, not being able to get a win out of the tournament, but he too ended with a winning record.
John Lee placed 4th, making it to state, and scoring the team 11.0 points. John lost to Tryon Calleroz, but came back to win by fall (2:10) over Jacob Bruns. John got a win for medical forfeit over Matt Christensen moving him to qualify for the state competition.
Dominik Roberts was unable to get a win in this tournament, but Wyatt Jenkins made it to the semi-finals by defeating Wyatt Lambertson by fall (0:52), and also Aaron Skaggs by fall (3:52). But Wyatt was defeated by Ayden Molzahn ending his season.
Jonah Shimmin also made it to the semi-finals by defeating Ashton Nichols by fall (1:05), Gavin Cole by fall (2:03), and Sean Duffy by fall (4:41), but just like Wyatt lost in his semi-final match keeping him from getting to state.
Branigan Schaben had a tough end to his senior wrestling season as well, but he also ended with a winning record.
Cameron Meyers earned 10.0 points for the team, by defeating Kolby Beck by fall (3:04), Julio Tellez by fall (1:29), and Connor Pell by fall (3:44). He was unable to qualify for state though when he was defeated by Blaine Minnick.
Levi Kerner placed 4th taking his season to the next level at state, and scored 13.0 points for the team. He won over Raymond Devine by fall (1:16) and Jonah Felix by fall (1:28). This secured his spot at state although he lost his 3rd Place Match to Cameron Nelson.
The team placed 7th overall and will be taking Tristan White, John Lee, and Levi Kerner to represent Arapahoe at the state tournament.
