There's a New Sheriff in Town

Mr. Perez got into education because he wanted to coach baseball and football. He grew up going to school in a small town, so he wanted to go back and work in a small town. He knew Dr. G when he worked in Kansas. "I just want to watch how the community works with the school," Mr. Perez said. He won’t make any changes unless the staff come up to him with suggestions. He likes to work with the teachers. The thing he likes most about being a principal is he can go to the bathroom whenever he wants. He likes being around kids and watching them grow up and become mature.

Mr. Perez was born in Chappell, Nebraska and raised in North East, Colorado. He was the principal in Cimarron, CO from 2000-2006, and in Norton, Kansas from 2006-2019 for a total of 19 years. Hopefully he will stay here for 20 years or longer. He has three kids, his wife and youngest daughter go to Norton every day for work and school. His oldest daughter goes to college at Kansas State, and his oldest son attended Colorado School of Mines and graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. While at Mines, he was a four-year letterman in football.
